Oh my gosh Stephanie that is very nice of you to say, but I do what anyone with a heart would - my dad did so much for me and my sister and we could never imagine not doing right by him. And in my community on the vineyard - the total year round population of the six towns is only 20,000 - literally everybody does something

(Unless you are a complete hermit, which admittedly I’d like to be sometimes!)

also , thank you for letting me know you’ve listened to all the episodes of Wiser than Me - you’re right I should start from the beginning! Yay - something to look forward to.

And yes, since we went to a girls school, having Julia and her crew was a real boost - they made everything more fun.

Wowza…you went to high school w JLD, and were a friend? I love this. I listen to a few podcasts, but to me, hers is the most authentic and enjoyable. First of all, I love that she curses, unapologetically. Also, she asks the best questions. She is truly in awe and curious about the amazing women she’s in conversation with…she’s the real deal. You asked which conversations folks enjoyed most…I’d encourage you to start from the beginning because each episode contains gems of wisdom. I listen while I garden, drive and even while vacuuming the floor. You’re going to love it.

PS you are a wonderful, loving daughter, and I just want to give you props for all that you do for your family and your community.

I so enjoyed this writing and I'll check out the pod cast! And I did laugh out loud at your rest stop description, every rest stop in New Zealand where I live is like that! if you want anything more than toilets and a table you need to wait until the next town ha ha.

Ha! I had no idea (about the rest stops in New Zealand!), Stephanie. I have been up and down this stretch of I 95 on the US East coast so much that I could probably write a whole primer on the rest stops😂 (no thank you) but this one is a real throwback…

It was so great to read this, fun to hear of your high-schools adventures with Julia. Hers is definitely one of my top favorite podcasts, have heard every episode. Can't wait for the wisdom we'll hear in season three.

Looking back through the list makes me want to listen to them again. I remember really enjoying Jane Fonda, Carol Burnett, Patti Smith, Anne Lemott.

ooh, perfect, thank you. I'm a big Anne Lamott fan so might start with her, but those other three, too. Thank you Cynthia!

I love anything with Julie Andrews in it. Thank you for a glimpse of a splendid soul at 88.

She is amazing, isn’t she? And to have a voice like that and lose it?! Oy.
