Revival at the Cliffs
The up-Island landscape is both starkly beautiful and achingly desolate this time of year. And that's exactly what I need.
I. The Wind
All it took was a blast of arctic air. Not quite a polar plunge, but perhaps the same effect? I could swear I felt a spike in my endorphins when I got back in the car.
I’d been outside for a good bit – walked up to the Gay Head Light first, then to the observation platform at the Cliffs, where the 360-degree view of the western end of the Island is both figuratively and literally breathtaking on a blustery winter day.
