Can you fall in love with a marigold? You can if her name is Strawberry Blonde and she looks like a Menemsha sunset. I fell for her based entirely on the pictures in the Burpee catalogue – what a sucker! But in this case, the glossy, Photo-Shopped photos were only a tease. Because this marigold changes color – every day, seemingly many times a day. Or at least frequently while the blossom is opening, maturing and fading – or when there’s a temperature change. It’s quite remarkable.
